Thank you for this wonderful sequence. Over the years it became my custom whenever I visit England and I can spare a few hours, I use that time to visit Stonehenge. To me I feel something of a spiritual belonging to the place, not in a mystical sense mind you, but rather of connecting to the skills and ingenuity of the people who hauled the stones from great distances to where they were erected, and the knowledge they used in fine tuning the positioning of the structure to coincide with astronomical alignments to gauge the progress of the seasons and other events.
As with other ancient monuments from other parts of the world, Stonehenge was a victim of the generations that came after the purpose of the structure was long forgotten. Over the centuries the stones of the monument were vandalized by those hunting for chunks of hard stone, something that is somewhat hard to come by in the southern areas of the British Isles, which are comprised mostly of chalky deposits.
Thank you again, and let me share with you a ground view :-))
